Job Description:

Internships at Sony Research India (SRI) are aimed at offering students with an opportunity to industry exposure and a production level project experience. The primary responsibility in this role will be to positively contribute to the growth and development of innovative technologies at SRI. During the internship, you will work closely with research scientists and other members in the team on various development and optimization tasks in object detection, tracking and recognition, large vision models, video generation, content moderation, etc. In addition, you’ll be expected to actively work on AI development activities daily, be it training, testing, fixing bugs or other routines for building a robust model.

For this internship program, we are seeking a talented and motivated candidate who is pursuing or has completed MS/MSc/MTech/PhD level degree, to join us as soon as possible, for a duration of at least 6 months. For this internship program, we’re only going to consider candidates who have demonstrable skills and knowledge in computer vision-based tasks such as video understanding, event prediction, action recognition, caption generation, transformer-based approaches in vision problems with strong coding skills with PyTorch and Python.

Work Location:

• Remote work within India.

Duration of the paid internship:

• The paid internship will be for 6 months starting first week of September 2024.
• The working hours are from 9:00 AM to 18:00 PM IST (Monday to Friday).

Essential Education / Qualifications / Experience

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree with relevant experience.

Responsibilities::

• Collaborate with research scientists and team members on daily activities, focusing on custom model training, development and optimization
• Build models from data (involves exploratory data analysis, hypothesis testing, predictive modeling)
• Use ML models as well as PyTorch and TensorFlow for deep learning model implementation, if required
• Employ AWS services such as S3, Athena, and EC2 for efficient data storage, querying, and computation
• Build dashboards for the predictive models.

Essential Skills:

• Strong understanding in Supervised and Unsupervised Machine learning models using Python
• Experience with PyTorch and TensorFlow and training deep learning models
• Experience in exploratory data analysis on Large Datasets
• Exposure to using AWS S3, Athena, and EC2

Good to have Skills:

• MLOps and Model Deployment
• Dashboard development
